Harrison Ford's $16M Chelsea Penthouse Finally In Contract

Harrison Ford was ready to exit 206 West 17th Street in December 2010, when he listed his 5,500-square-foot penthouse (with 2,300-square-foot private roof terrace) for $16 million. Unfortunately, even Indiana Jones's charm couldn't move the loft quickly. The place has finally, the Observer notes, gone into contract after two years.

The listing emphasizes the "custom crafstmanship" of the place, and indeed, Ford hired 1100 Architect to renovate the apartment after he purchased it for $5.3 million in 2002. (The building, formerly a warehouse and offices for Barney's, had been converted a few years earlier into raw lofts designed by Cary Tamarkin.) So, did Ford finally get his hoped-for price?
