Adaptive Reuse?

Here's an idea: why don't we take some Gowanus Canal sludge and move it to Red Hook, to expand a shipping terminal in the Gowanus Bay? That's what John Quadrozzi, owner of that shipping terminal, proposed to Brooklyn's CB 6. "Like turning water into wine, the dredge sludge could be remediated and beneficially re-used locally as both a building material in the creation of?future maritime economic development in Red Hook." No one has yet looked at the legality of this plan. [DNAinfo]
