Atlantic Yards developer Forest City Ratner finally announced this week, after months of rumors, that first Atlantic Yards residential tower B2 would be built using modular construction. At a public meeting yesterday, the developers shared a few more details about the project, including two peeks at interior renderings from the architects at SHoP. SHoP's Chris Sharples explained the facade: perforated metal mesh on the white cube, and a beveled frame of metal panels on the upper segment. The first floor and everything below it will be standard, non-modular construction, Atlantic Yards Report explains.
