The former Rabbit in the Moon restaurant space at 47 West 8th Street has tangled with preservationists over its facade, with was initially adorned with ugly fake ivy. The Landmarks Preservation Commission ruled that the ivy had to go, so the Village was left with fake stone instead. Now, the Greenwich Village Society for Historic Preservation blog reports, the LPC has approved a more standard-looking brick storefront for the site. In keeping with the theme here, perhaps the owners should use fake bricks.
