WXY Architecture to Design Brooklyn Tech Triangle Masterplan

The Brooklyn Tech Triangle Coalition selected WXY Architecture + Urban Design to create the masterplan for a tech mecca connecting Downtown Brooklyn, Dumbo, and the Brooklyn Navy Yard, reports the Real Deal. WXY is tasked with spearheading the architecture, construction, and engineering for the project, which aims to employ 9,600 people and generate $3.1 billion. The masterplan will make recommendations for real estate, transportation, public policy, infrastructure, and design changes throughout the area to ultimately attract high-profile technology companies.

WXY's team, which consists of HR&A Advisors, Sam Schwartz Engineering and the Control Group, was one of 17 to respond to the RFP issued in July. The neighborhoods' three business improvement districts launched the initiative in hopes of cashing in on the area's growing tech sector.
