SEAPORT?After suffering extensive damage during Hurricane Sandy, the South Street Seaport Museum has announced that the institution will be reopening this Friday, December 14 with a street photography exhibit. The storm damaged the museum's cafe, gift shop, electrical system, elevators, and escalator, but thankfully the collections and exhibitions escaped direct damage. The museum also announced the opening of a new custom print shop on Water Street. [CurbedWire Inbox; official]

FLOZO?Here's a new neighborhood name: FloZo, short for Flood Zone. A tipster writes: "Those of us who live in the flood zone area in lower manhattan have termed our new neighborhood (because it really is a 'new' neighborhood as far as I am concerned) 'FloZo.' FloZo is the part of the financial district that continues to suffer the after effects of Sandy. This neighborhood is also at high risk for future floods. My family is moving out of FloZo. We live at 75 Wall and have lived in this area for over 10 years. The neighborhood is so substantially changed that we are leaving. It is really very sad to see." [CurbedWire Inbox]
