An empty lot at the corner of Avenue C and East 6th Street is set to get a new six-story residential building, according to the Local. The lot, which is surrounded by a falling-apart plywood fence, has been home to large rat population and currently host a giant 10-foot-by-12-foot hole. A building permit was filed on December 6 by a group named 13 Willow Avenue Realty Co. LLC for a six-story, 14-unit building. A member of the group has been trying to develop the lot since 2003, but his plans have never come to fruition. The application is still pending, but hopefully these plans are more successful because any building would be a big improvement over rats and mystery holes.
