Post-Hurricane Sandy, one institution that has not been in the spotlight is the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, but the 52-acre green space is still trying to recover from the storm. The garden lost 80 trees, including several that were more than 80-years-old, and workers are still clearing debris. One section of the garden remains closed, but hopefully it will be fully re-opened by early spring. [NY1]
