With three days left on its crowdfunding campaign, the Stanton Street Synagogue has already exceed its goal of $10,000 by $620. The funds will go toward fixing roof and water damage caused by Hurricane Sandy, but Bowery Boogie reports that the institution needs even more?about $200,000 total. The synagogue will continue fundraising, and once it reaches $30,000, the New York Landmarks Conservancy will match that amount, as the synagogue was awarded a matching Heritage grant earlier this year. As for the other $130,000, that's still up in the air.
