CONEY ISLAND?This morning, local blog Amusing the Zillion wrote a post wondering if Thor Equities' new Surf Avenue would become a hotspot for big chains and franchises. After all, Johnny Rockets, Red Mango, and Applebee's have already signed leases for the space. But then this afternoon, we received a press release from Thor announcing that Brooklyn-based businesses will received "slashed" rents at 1232 Surf Avenue. Just how low the rents will be was not included in the release, but at least the developer is trying to attract smaller, local tenants. [CurbedWire Inbox and ATZ]
BATTERY PARK CITY?The long-in-the-works West Thames Pedestrian Bridge is finally moving forward, and there is even a tentative timeline for its completion.
