Richard Holbrooke's Former Beresford Apartment Finally Sells

New, 10 comments

The 4BR, 4BA apartment on the eighth floor of The Beresford that was home to journalist Kati Marton and her husband, diplomat Richard Holbrooke, until the latter's death in 2010 has sold after more than a year on the market, the Observer reports. Originally listed for $14.7 million, the apartment, which Marton purchased in the early '90s with then husband Peter Jennings, underwent a series of pricechops, eventually going for a severely discounted $11,000,000. (It's not as bad as it seems, though, as Marton has already sold off the adjoining office for $1.8 million.) The new owners, one of whom was finance chairman of the Democratic National Committee from 1995 to 1997, will have big party-throwing shoes to fill, as Holbrooke and Marton were known to host star-studded dinners during their time in #8G, which contains a 516-square-foot living room and a 360-square-foot dining room.
