Inside the Museum of Math; Stories of Old Brooklyn

FLATIRON DISTRICT?The Museum of Math opened last week, and some design-focused photos hit our inbox this morning. BKSK architecture led a gut renovation of the former merchandising warehouse at 11 East 26th Street to create a high-tech, interactive exhibit space. The museum is located on the first two floors of a landmarked Gothic office building, and the designers worked with the institute to integrate math into every part. The front door handles are the Pi symbol, and a mathematical pattern is embossed on the glass facade. [CurbedWire Inbox; official]

BROOKLYN?In January, Brooklyn Lyceum is kicking off a new story-telling series called Gowanologues, focused on tales of old Brooklyn told by the Brooklynites who lived them. Stories of public baths, growing up in East New York, and more. [CurbedWire Inbox; official]
