Looks like a developer in Greenpoint may have jumped the gun at 74 Kent Street. The building, a brick warehouse in a landmark district, was hit with a Stop Work Order because there was construction happening without a permit. And not just any construction?the developer is converting the place into market-rate apartments, complete with a penthouse. But he has yet to get city approval. This probably won't go well.
