The opponents of the Prospect Park West bike lane are evidently feeling quite proud of themselves at the moment. Riding high on the ruling that their case against the lane must be reheard, they have now offer the DOT a real head-scratcher of a settlement deal: They will drop all charges if the DOT pays for a "fully independent" new traffic study to figure out if traffic has improved since the bike lane was installed, and if traffic is the same or worse, then the DOT would remove the bike lane. Huh? [NYO; previously]
