Hamptons hotelier Chris Jones is the owner of the Montauk Beach House?and of apartment #2 at 86 Thomas Street, which he is now trying to sell. Jones purchased the pad for $1,311,300 in mid-2007 and is now hoping to get $2.808 million for it after a renovation. Among the features: Du Chateau bleached oak flooring, a 21-foot wall of windows, funky ceilings, and a master bathroom suite designed by Jamie Hayon?a Spanish designer who Jones says he was the first to use in the U.S..
The StreetEasy sales history for the unit is a bit confusing?it looks like it was listed in late 2007 and in 2008 for $2.6 and $2.695 million, but failed to sell. UPDATE: A commenter points out that some of the listings included under 86 Thomas Street are actually for 84 Thomas Street next door. So the listing history of this particular apartment isn't so confusing after all.
