Both law firms representing hedge fund manager Alphonse Fletcher Jr. in his discrimination lawsuit against the Dakota have been allowed to withdraw from the case, one because it claimed Fletcher hadn't paid his bills, the other because of "irreconcilable differences" with Fletcher. Fletcher has until December 20 to hire a new lawyer, and until January 7 to submit some overdue documents in the case. The Dakota co-op board apparently had some questions about Fletcher's financial situation when considering the apartment bid that sparked this whole lawsuit. So alleged non-payment of legal bills probably doesn't help Fletcher's case. [WSJ; previously]
