Celebrity chef Eric Ripert, of Le Bernardin, must really like those kitchens he designed for the un-finished Chelsea Green condo. The Post reports that Ripert purchased a 1,272-square-foot 2BR/2BA apartment that was listed for $1.835 million in the building at 151 West 21st Street. In keeping with the building's sustainability motif, the kitchens have high-efficiency appliances, eco-friendly finishes, and "feature a cooktop on the island and plating area to prep dishes, so the host is able to entertain and serve surrounding seated guests while cooking"?obviously, everything a star chef needs.
Chelsea Green launched sales in May, and all but three of the 51 units all of the 51 condos have entered contract. The building isn't even complete yet, so the only images of the place are a few artist's renderings and the sales office, which has a replica of the kitchen and bathroom. Construction is underway (hit up the tipline if you have recent photos of the progress), and, barring any delays, residents should be able to move in by fall 2013.
