Beer Heiress Daphne Guinness Sells, With Relief, at 995 Fifth

New, 10 comments

A lawsuit over flooding of the apartment below hers at 995 Fifth Avenue, aka the Stanhope, left beer heiress Daphne Guinness majorly stressed out. As she confessed to Page Six, she feared running into those neighbors every time she took the elevator. So she listed her carefully-designed Stanhope pad (it's been in Architectural Digest) for $14 million. This is a good news/bad news situation. Good news: Guinness will no longer have to deal with neighbor anxiety, because she has found a buyer for the apartment and moved into a hotel, according to Page Six. Bad news: she got only $11.3 million for the apartment, less than both the ask and the price Guinness herself paid for it in 2008.
