Settlements

The board of Dumbo's 50 Bridge Street sued controversial developer Joshua Guttman back in 2007, alleging construction defects in the roof and waterproofing of the building. According to a press release that landed in our inbox this morning, the dispute has been settled, and it sounds like things worked out in the residents' favor: repairs will begin soon. Brownstoner hears from representatives of the board that the settlement was "a significant dollar amount," and it will be added to "special assessments within the building" to pay for the repair work. Since the project is close to 205 Water, Kirkman Lofts, and other new neighborhood developments, no one will notice a few more construction workers, right? [CurbedWire Inbox; Brownstoner]
