FINANCIAL DISTRICT?A tipster sends in a batch of FiDi construction photos with a bit of explanation: "Attached some photos from John Street in FiDi. Major shitshow in recent weeks. Fulton Street Transit Center. The new Pace building on John and Broadway. A new hotel coming to John. ConEd is tearing up the street. Nassau between John and Fulton is closed for cable work." Live the life of a John Street regular vicariously through the above photo gallery. Convinced that the noise must end? There's now a Facebook group for that. [CurbedWire Inbox]

LONG ISLAND CITY?With Valentine's Day approaching, LIC Councilman Jimmy Van Bramer and the tenants and employees of LIC's East Coast Towers have a strange way of showing their, er, lack of love for developer TF Cornerstone. According to a press release:

The Councilman, will be joined tomorrow by a delegation of tenants, neighbors and workers from Cornerstone’s LIC apartment building East Coast Towers, to deliver a petition signed by almost all of the residents at the 485-unit building. The petition demands responsible development and accountability from Cornerstone? The petition supports both Cornerstone building service workers who are being denied industry-standard retirement savings and training, and tenants who report being hit with unexpected and severe rent increases and false advertising of amenities.Van Bramer’s Valentine’s Day delegation will deliver the petition, along with candy grams, at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday at East Coast Towers’ management office located at 4720 Center Boulevard in LIC Mmm, candy?sorry, you were saying?
