Upper West Side Mansion Returns for Rent at $110,000/Month

New, 3 comments

The six-story townhouse at 247 Central Park West finally sold early this year for $22.4 million, after an on-again, off-again relationship with the PriceChopper that saw the house's price fall all the way from $32 million. That was despite a 60' lap pool and a slightly illustrious pedigree?the house belonged to former Coach COO Keith Monda, who bought it from Walt Disney's grandniece Abigail. The new owner's identity is still a mystery?he apparently lives overseas and isn't yet prepared to move in?but a broker tells The Real Deal that the place is about to hit the rental market for a whopping $110,000/month. (Still not the city's most expensive rental, though.) The broker says he's already shown the house to two prospective renters, even though, he admits, "the market for a $110,000-per-month rental is certainly not as large as the sub-$50,000 market." Indeed.
