Nick Jonas, in town performing the lead role in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, missed his chance to rescue 15 Central Park West's ugliest apartment. He's settled for something with blander decor and cooler tech: hockey player Scott Gomez's penthouse at the Chelsea Mercantile. Gomez bought the apartment, a 3BR, 3BA duplex, for $3.2 million back in 2007, and according to the Journal, these days it has a 120-inch high-definition movie screen that drops from the living room ceiling (plus all kinds of iPad-controlled electronics and lighting). The rental was listed for $23,000/month, and StreetEasy says it rented for $20,000. The previous tenant, Marc Jacobs, apparently paid only $15,000/month for the place. So when Jonas is done with How to Succeed in Business, maybe Gomez should get an audition.
