The latest battleground in brownstone Brooklyn is the site of the closed Fourth Avenue KFC soon to become a McDonald's. Neighbors aren't on board unless McDonald's fancies up its drive-thru before building on the site. "They need to realize what this neighborhood is," one local resident tells the Brooklyn Paper. "We'd like to make it as nice as possible and even do landscaping." A McDonald's rep says the decor at the Fourth Ave location will be "subdued" compared to the chain's traditional look. [BK Paper]
