Foreclosures of the Future: Improved!

New, 2 comments

The City Council has passed two bills to help the tenants of buildings facing foreclosure. One of the bills requires banks to notify the Department of Housing Preservation and Development fifteen days before the foreclosure of a residential building, which will give HPD time to vet the potential buyers of the property. The second bill, less exciting but equally necessary, calls for the creation of an online database of city contracts. [Gotham Gazette]
