Inside a Bachelor's Family-Minded Renovation on Park Avenue

New, 16 comments

Even the pricey units at 1045 Park Avenue aren't perfect, but most design problems can be solved with more money. Designer Guillaume Gentet (of this duplex at The Greenwich) had a budget of $142/square foot to redesign a 2,100-square-foot, full-floor pad at 1045 Park. The objective: redo a single male finance exec's apartment to make room for the family he didn't have yet. The renovations included turning a hall closet into a powder room, adding more cabinets and a walk-in closet, and converting a maid's room into a wine tasting room. Not a bad idea even if the family doesn't materialize. Some post-renovation photos in the gallery above.
