We mentioned over the weekend that David Wright's penthouse at Infinity Flats was headed under the PriceChopper's knife yet again. The new listing (the property also changed brokers) is now live, and the place is asking $6.25 million, not much more than the $6.1M Wright forked over for the 4,000-square-foot pad in 2006. The photos are also a toned-down version of what we saw when the listing first appeared. The lighting is softer and features like the pool table and salt water aquarium are barely visible or gone completely.
The transformation extends to the listing language. Here's what the brokerbabble said when the property hit the market in April of last year:
The great room is defined by a salt-water aquarium and a gas fireplace with glass and stone. The floor-through layout offers three bedrooms including an oversized master suite, a large media room featuring a wall of five flat-screen TVs, four and half stunning bathrooms plus a home office with bathroom en suite. The eat-in kitchen features professional appliances, tremendous storage and a marble island with wine cooler as well as space for a full-sized dining table. One flight upstairs, the roof deck is fully equipped with enclosed hot tub, sound system and gas grill. Here's what it says now, perhaps in search of a buyer with more generic luxury tastes:
There is a dramatic open living room/dining room which is flooded with light and has a gas fireplace. An oversized, windowed eat-in kitchen has beautiful finishes, top of the line appliances, and a large pantry. The sunny master bedroom has huge windows with automated blackout shades, custom closets, and a luxurious ensuite bath. There are 2 additional bedrooms plus a fully equipped media room/bedroom with 5 large flat screen TV’s. Completing this apartment is a stunning private roof deck with a hot tub. Other features include home office w/bath, hardwood floors, high ceilings, in home security system, Crestron A/V system, washer/dryer, skylights, +/- 4100 sq ft interior, +/-710 sq ft exterior. Infinity Flats is a boutique building with a virtual doorman and key lock elevators. One constant is the floorplan:
