The Post confirms what neighborhood residents and bloggers have long speculated: that actor David Schwimmer is the new owner of the townhouse at 331 East 6th Street. Or former townhouse, we should say?Schwimmer had it completely demolished earlier this year after paying $4.1 million for it. He did so after receiving Landmarks Preservation Commission notices that the house might be landmarked in 2012. Not a way to make friends in the East Village! Too bad: since Schwimmer is planning a six-story mansion with roof terrace on the lot, he might be there for a while.
