Politician's Brother Finally Sells Upper East Side Townhouse

New, 2 comments

The real estate troubles of Oliver Sarkozy, half-brother of France's president, have finally ended. Sarkozy has been trying to sell his townhouse at 407 East 75th Street since May 2010, when he listed it for $11.95 million. (The home's other claim to fame: photographer Richard Avedon once owned it, and the Sarkozys kept his in-home studio and darkroom intact.) Failure to find a buyer led to some epic PriceChoppage, from $11.95M to $10.5 million to $9.5 million to $8.995 million. The final sale price? $8.4 million. Ouch.

The Observer identifies the buyer as tech entrepreneur Kevin Wendle, who just got rid of his 812 Fifth Avenue place for $10.6 million.
