We wouldn't describe Madison Avenue's The Mark?a partially-converted luxury hotel?as a place buyers are rushing to get into. In fact, one of the building's two buyers filed a lawsuit to get his deposit back, and the $60 million penthouse has had a hard time finding takers at any price. Even so, the building's just about ready to try co-op sales again. The Post explains that the mortgage has been recapitalized and an amendment to the offering plan filed with the attorney general's office. So what's next? Nine units will hit the market through Corcoran Sunshine, with prices "buoyed by other recent upscale sales." (Thanks again, Ekaterina Rybolovleva.) The penthouse will be asking around $6,000/square foot and the other eight units between $4,500 and $5,000/square foot. We shall see.
