Jim Carrey Looks at Warren Street, But Don't Look at Him

New, 6 comments

Privacy-concerned celebrity home shopper Jim Carrey was reportedly in Tribeca this week, checking out a unit on the 32nd foor at 101 Warren Street. Carrey likes modern, open buildings with lots of glass, but hates that people could potentially see him via those features. That's what drove him into and out of a rental at Richard Meier's 176 Perry Street. And a few months ago Carrey was looking at a top floor penthouse at the Zinc Building, but that 981 square foot roof deck?not very private. Maybe #3250 at 101 Warren is a fair enough compromise between openness and privacy for the personally shy on-screen extrovert. The 1,076 square foot wraparound terrace on the 32nd floor is set back and has 22' ceilings, making it one of the most boxed-in spaces we've seen at that height. Inside is a 2,297 square foot duplex with 3BR and 3.5BA. The seller's asking $8.6 million, which is a lot more than the $5.95 million unit Carrey was scoping at the Zinc Building, but privacy isn't free.
