The Center for Urban Pedagogy produced this short film about bodegas and the foods that they sell in the Bronx. The borough has a much higher rate of obesity than the rest of New York, something many people blame on poor available food choices. Or the problem could be that lower-priced bodegas economically empower children, whose food choices can be suspect under the best circumstances. The documentary is a good primer on the bodega industry.
