We've been following with interest the saga of 161 East 80th Street, the thoroughly renovated townhouse that sold in 2009 for $4.9 million and popped up again last year asking $14.585 million. Daniel Frisch Architecture took charge of the makeover, which involved a new fifth floor, reconfigured floorplan, a bluestone back garden, and a heated front garden and sidewalks. The disappearance of winter might make those heated sidewalks an even less necessary extra, but the property still appealed to someone: the place has sold (to an LLC) for $13 million. Not too shabby.
