The Quirks Abound in This One-Bed Little Italy Penthouse

New, 7 comments

High atop 161 Grand Street—the building that director Sophia Coppola is abandoning for a townhouse on Morton Street—this 1,450-square-foot penthouse is mighty eccentric, despite the staid white-and-black color scheme. For one, the elevator empties out onto the terrace, which must be an absolute joy in the rain. Second, the fireplace is tucked away awkwardly in a corner nook. And, lastly, the sole (and quite small) bedroom is accessed, despite all the space, by a spiral staircase. Does the $1.9M price tag account for all these quirks or will a price chop be necessary to get this gone?
