This 3BR duplex in Cobble Hill should catch one's attention for the lack of an extra digit in the asking price—it's listed for $999,000. Not that it's impossible to get full-sized apartment in Brooklyn for under a million bucks these days, but unit B6C at 401 Hicks Street was fully modernized in 2005, so it has central A/C, new hardwood floors, an up-to-date kitchen, and all the other usual amenities you'd expect in a more modern building. 401 Hicks was built in 1858 and served as St. Peter's Church and Academy until its condo conversion.
