Looks Like All Systems Go for Space Shuttle Museum

New, 9 comments

Ground crews are doing preliminary flight check before the takeoff of Enterprise Museum construction. A Curbed tipster sent us these photos yesterday of Aquifer Drilling and Testing employees doing drilling and getting ground samples of the land across from The Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum. In a mind-boggling rendering of what a West Side space shuttle museum could look like, one can see that the crazy wing-shaped Enterprise Museum would be pushed right up against the brick building where professionals are now getting their soil samples. When egged on by our wily tipster, one of the men admitted "ultimately that's what this is for." The downside: it looks like a few dozen more parking spaces on the West Side will be scrubbed.
