Inside the Brewster Carriage House Combo; No to Fare Hikes

New, 8 comments

NOLITA—Behold, the photo above from the just-finished Brewster Carriage House penthouse at 374 Broome Street. Brick, metal work, rough-hewn timber. Only $15.4 million for the 6BR combination. [Curbedwire Inbox; previously]

NYC—Transit advocacy group Transportation Alternatives was pleased to get almost a thousand signatures on its online petition asking Gov. Cuomo not to hike fares again.

“New Yorkers are fed up with being asked to pay more for less when it
comes to public transit. Instead of raising the cost of a
MetroCard yet again, the State and City should increase their own
investment in public transit. Riders have been hit with three fare
hikes since 2007, and in return, we’ve seen historic service cuts.
Enough is enough. Instead of stealing transit funding from riders and
shortchanging the system, it’s time for the City and State to chip

in.” [Curbedwire Inbox; petition]
