Take those last nostalgic looks at the East Village Mystery Lot now, folks. An EV Grieve tipster notices that three permits are pending approval for the lot's next life. (It sold last fall to developer Charles Blaichman for $33.2 million.) The permits call for 86,409 square feet of residential space and 5,275 square feet of retail space, all designed by BKSK Architects. More specifically, the plan is for an eight-story, 82-unit project with studios through 3BRs. As EV Grieve speculates, chains seem like a reasonable bet for that retail space. We'll take renderings if anyone's got 'em.
