Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer's vote of approval is crucial to NYU to get its N.Y.U. 2031 expansion plan passed, but Stringer is frustrated that the school is piling too many of its development eggs into a single super-block basket that critics say will overwhelm its surroundings. “When you propose a plan you know will overwhelm the existing community, you lose credibility with architects, planners and land-use experts, and you lose the heart and soul of a community.” [NYT]
