Restaurateur Jeff Chodorow's Glassy Trump Pad Hikes Price

New, 3 comments

According to the brokerbabble, this 3,700-square-foot, "loft-like" apartment at Trump Tower, which just appeared online, is one of only two in the building to enjoy floor-to-ceiling glass, a feature that involved the current owner—who the Wall Street Journal revealed as flamboyant restaurateur Jeffrey Chodorowreplacing more than 40 windows in the sprawling flat. No minor task or expense, to be sure, but probably worth it considering the views of Central Park can be enjoyed from the comfort of the master bed, the Crown Building looms across from the kitchen, and the Empire State can be seen from four rooms. Of course, these views come at a predictably high cost: $18.8M. That might be a new price, but it's $2.4M more than the three-bedroom apartment was asking as recently as January. Perhaps that South African clan, the people behind Hot & Crusty, will continue their Trump Tower buying spree with this trophy spread. Considering "El Chod" paid a combined $5.35M for the three pre-combo units in 2004, he still stands to make out like the bandit he was once convicted of being.
