Stalled LIC Waterfront Project Remains Just as Stalled as Ever

Williamsburg's Hot Karl Beach is no longer living up to its nickname, but Long Island City has an alternative, shown above: what the neighbors call Lake Vernon. The Daily News updates us on 44-02 Vernon Boulevard, the long-stalled site that is?still stalled. Durst Fetner Residential had plans last year to sell the project's note, but the foreclosure case on the property has yet to be settled. The previous plan for the property called for 910 residential units distributed among two 28-story buildings and four eight-story ones. Odds the construction will ever happen?
