Can a Loft Bed Make Up for a Tiny Bedroom in the E. Village?

New, 14 comments

Welcome back to The Six Digit Club, in which we take a look at a newish-to-market listing priced under $1 million, because nice things sometimes come in small packages. Have a nomination? Send it to the tipline.

A quick glance at the floor plan for this $445K one-bedroom at 323 East 8th Street reveals a bedroom that measures little more than nine-by-six feet and lacks a closet. The rest of the apartment is plenty desirable for this price, with Miele appliances in the kitchen, a well-placed island, and an open and airy living room. The bathroom is no personal spa, but uses the space efficiently enough. The sticking point for most buyers will probably be that bedroom, which has been transformed with the addition of a lofted bed with full-height storage underneath and a simple tubular hanging rack. Is that enough to appease a budget-minded buyer?
