Scoring pretty much any apartment in the famously expensive West Village for $329K should be a coup, but not in the case of this tiny ground-floor studio at 34 Bethune Street. The tiny, 220-square-foot flat has just enough space for a bed—or, in its current configuration, a pullout couch—and an imposing tiled fireplace, but that doesn't leave much space left over for the kitchenette, which consists of an under-counter refrigerator and narrow sink. Still, considering the low, $378-per-month maintenance, this could serve as a decent pied-a-terre, an alternative to a hotel room for frequent visitors. The spoiler is that a nearly identical unit on the same floor sold a year ago for just $255K. Granted, that place was in estate condition, but it shares a similar floor plan and has space for a small cooktop. So it seems $329K for this West Village studio isn't such a deal after all.
