Runway Closed for Work; Free Trees in Bed-Stuy

NEWARK—Runway 4R-22L at Newark's Liberty International Airport, which handles more than 190,000 aircraft operations a year, will be closed on weekends beginning this Saturday through November. The runway will be undergoing a $42 million rehabilitation. [Curbedwire Inbox]

BED-STUY—Pratt Area Community Council is giving out free trees at Magnolia Plaza (686 Lafayette Avenue between Marcy and Tompkins Avenues) this Saturday as party of NYC's Million Trees initiative. The trees will be given out between 11a-3p on a first come, first serve basis. It's recommended that those wanting to take home a tree bring a folding shopping cart or a decent-sized shopping bag.
