UPPER EAST SIDE/PARK SLOPE—The Landmarks Preservation Commission voted to landmark the Barbizon Hotel on the Upper East Side and extend the Park Slope Historict District in Brooklyn. The Barbizon Hotel at 63rd Street and Lexington Avenue was completed in 1928 as a residential hotel and clubhouse for single women. Designed by the firm Murgatroyd & Ogden, the Barbizon is now condos. The 600-building extension of the Park Slope Historic District makes it the third largest in NYC and the largest in Brooklyn.

SCOFIDIO'S MAILBOX—An occasional look at items mistakenly mailed to architects Diller Scofidio + Renfro at the firm's old address ... which now happens to be Curbed HQ.

This handsome, heavy, hanging weekly wall calendar showed up at our office a few weeks ago, addressed to Ricardo Scofidio. It may take an architect to show us how to hang something this heavy on our office wall, unless Scofidio himself would like to collect it.
