On the highest floor of a loft building, this one-bedroom duplex might qualify as "top of the world" in another neighborhood, but just south of Madison Square Park, in the shadow of 50-story One Madison Park, it doesn't quite earn the title. Still, the broker and photographer have done a good job of cropping out that towering black monolith and the older high-rise apartment house to the northwest and, regardless of the tall neighbors, this unit enjoys stunning views of the park and the Empire State Building. It's a long way from the bedroom down a spiral staircase and across the apartment to the bathroom, but a professionally-outfitted dressing room helps. The rest of the apartment, done up in a modern, minimalist style, suffers from awkward placement of the refrigerator, but is otherwise well presented. The 1,300-square-foot apartment is currently asking $2.19M.
