Philippe Petit will reprise his high wire act above the main concourse hall of Grand Central Terminal to celebrate the building's 100th anniversary on February 1, 2013. Petit gained fame as the wire walker who stepped from one Twin Tower to another without a net in 1974, before helping GCT celebrate its 75th anniversary with a stunt he will re-enact 25 years later. The first time Petit attempted the 80-foot-high crossing, organizers had to identify a 12-minute window when no trains arrived or departed from the station, lest vibrations transmitted to the wire buy Petit a one-way ticket out of New York.
