Five seasons of Selling New York have taught us that staging sells, but there are still devotees of the lived-in look. Like the sellers of 245 East 93rd Street #29C, for example. The owner's asking $849,000 for the place, purchased for $338K in 1999 and renovated since. It's a 1,045-square-foot 1BR, 1BA that could perhaps do with some staging guidance. At least we know the plumbing works.
Here's where things really get weird: the apartment was on the market with another broker until mid-April, when the seller made a broker switch and dropped the price. And in the earlier listing photos, preserved on StreetEasy, the place looks?totally normal, with only a hint in the bedroom shot of what's to come. Oh, and there's that box in the corner of the living room.
