Two New Buildings Get Moving on East 79th Street

New, 1 comment

Broker-blogger Andrew Fine has been tracking the progress of 200 East 79th Street, and what progress it is! The building, which was only four stories tall six weeks ago, is already at the 17th floor. A construction worker tells Fine the facade will be "pre-cast stone," which has Fine thinking Touraine. Speculation's all we've got, since no renderings of the project have been released. Anyone know more about the design?
Fine also checks in on 127 East 79th Street, the Brodsky-designed condo where Hunter College's social work school used to stand. Currently in progress: excavation and foundation work. DOB filings indicate that SLCE might be the architect.
