Real Estate Porn Tilting Towards the Latter

Browsing real estate listings in your spare time at work may get a little dicey if this trend continues. The Meier Group is launching a new campaign that emphasizes that home is not just where the heart is, but also where people like to get it on. Have you been wasting important apartment hunting minutes by instead browsing through magazines like Maxim and FHM? You may be the target market for this campaign. In case the pictures don't drive the point home, the ad copy is barely dressed up in naked double entendres—"Home Is Where The Hot Is..." and "Are You Ready to Come Home?" The art director for this particular shoot in the Meier Group campaign is Dimitrios Aletras Jr., the man who brought us the insanely genius/cheesy model-filled photos for 136 Waverly Place a year ago. Last year he told AOL Real Estate about his approach to using sex to sell apartments. "The images really show you the lifestyle you want for yourself. They are insanely sexy!"

If those models and glass cubes from the Dimitrios Aletras' photo shoot look familiar, it's probably because you've already seen Segment 3 of realtor Michael Meier's "Selling Higher" series, which features him, his motorcycle, his cuff links, and models in their underwear trying to sell a loft at 109 West 26th Street, which is where it looks like the still photos above campaign were shot. We're told that there's more from this campaign to come. How effective is it? That loft has been pricechopped 17% since it was listed in December and is currently asking $3.495 million.
