Our Suburb, the mansion at 2 North Moore Street built by Steven Schnall with lots of suburban touches (pool, three-car garage, and more!), sold for $24 million back in 2010. Schnall was thinking of moving his family to the West Coast post-sale, but apparently he's changed his mind, because he's purchased 11-15 Leonard Street, a Tribeca site now occupied by two garages. The Tribeca Trib explains that Schnall plans to build "a seven-story building topped with a two-story penthouse," and he and his family will move into the 6,000-square-foot maisonette on the first two floors. Schnall and his partners, who paid $10 million for the site, aren't revealing the design until they present it to CB 1's Landmarks Committee, but early reports are less than glowing. "“It’s a huge building in the middle of the block, towering over the buildings next to it," said one area resident. Anyone hear anything more specific?
